Julia A. “Sissy” (Nabors) Boord
Julia A. ‘Sissy’ Nabors Boord, 84, Point Marion, Pa., passed peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2016 surrounded by her loving family after a short illness at Point Manor personal care home of Point Marion.
Sissy was born August 14, 1932 in Gans, Pa., daughter of Lawrence and Anna (Rude) Nabors.
Upon arriving in heaven she was greeted by her parents; her son, Lawrence ‘Butch’ Boord; her brother John Nabors; and her son-in-law, Jon Smith who preceded her.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Paul Boord with whom she had a wonderful and loving life; her daughter, Celia Smith who lives at home; daughter-in-law, Janet Boord of Greensboro, Pa.; grandchildren: Brianna (John) Vanata of Greensboro, Chris Boord of Morgantown, West Virginia, Jesse Boord of Greensboro, and Tanner Dalton of Morgantown, West Virginia; two great grandchildren: John Vanata and Sophia Vanata of Greensboro, Pa.; her niece, Nancy Jo (John) McCutchan of Fairmont, West Virginia; her nephew, John David Nabors of Fairmont, West Virginia; brothers-in-law and their families: Robert and Mary Boord of Wilmington, Delaware, Billy and Irene Boord of Ormond Beach, Florida; her second daughter, Lori (Carl) McCue of Morgantown, West Virginia; her uncle, Charles Rude of Cheat Lake, West Virginia; cousins: Betty (Vincent) Coppolina of Gans, Pa., Joyce (Eddie) Robinson of Cheat Lake, West Virginia and Kim (Doug) Murray also of Cheat Lake with whom she loved to talk on the phone
Sissy was a Beautician by trade.
She loved to garden and loved the beach. She had many fun years in Sea Isle City, New Jersey and recently traveled to Yellowstone Park and Wyoming to see a rodeo.
Her blue eyes and her smile were her trademark.
The family gives sincere gratitude and thanks to the Angels at Point Manor personal care home and Amedisys Rehab and Hospice. They are truly a credit to what compassion is.
Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, Thomas B. Rudolph, Funeral Director and Supervisor, 15 Main Street, Point Marion, (724.725.5256) today, Sunday, November 27, from 1 until 5 p.m. Services will be held in the Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Beverly Roscoe as officiant.
Honoring her wishes, Sissy will be cremated and placed in the Little Arlington section of Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, Pa., at a later date.
