Deacon Jerome W. Ciarrocchi
Deacon Jerome W. Ciarrocchi went to his heavenly reward to be with the Lord, joining his beloved wife Maura, at the age of 95, Wednesday November 23, 2016.
Born on August 3, 1921, his parents were Emilio Ciarrocchi I and Catherine (Capozzoli) Ciarrocchi, both from Italy.
He grew up in Uniontown, Pennsylvania with his late younger brother, Emilio II, who died in 2000.
He attended Redstone High School and helped to run his family’s clothing factory, ‘Ciarrocchi & Sons’.
He attended Penn State University, studied art in New York City, and operated a bookstore in Uniontown, Pennsylvania
He and his wife of 52 years, Maura (Barry) Ciarrocchi, moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1964.
His career in teaching and as an Educational Diagnostician spanned 30 years.
His role as a Permanent Deacon in the Archdiocese of San Antonio best defined his many life’s accomplishments.
He earned bachelor’s and masters degrees in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University and a second Masters in Theology from Oblate School of Theology.
He was a devoted husband, father, deacon and marriage counselor to many at Saint Thomas More Catholic Parish in San Antonio, Texas.
He is survived by his three children: Catherine Ann Ciarrocchi of San Antonio, Texas, Maria Regina and her husband Randall William Boon of Indianapolis, Indiana and David Jerome and his wife Madelane Ciarrocchi, San Antonio; four grandchildren: Tristan David Ciarrocchi and Julia Jaiden Ciarrocchi, Emily Regina Boon and Claire Maria Boon; as well as many relatives and friends.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Ciarrocchi School Fund at Saint Thomas More Catholic School, 4411 Moana Drive, San Antonio, TX 78218.
Visitation will be on Friday December 2, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at SAINT THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4411 Moana Drive, San Antonio, TX 78218.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. also at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church.
Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery.
