William Cooley
William Cooley, 96, Hagerstown, Maryland died Sunday, November 27, 2016.
He was born in Georges Township, Fayette County, Pa., on Tuesday, December 23, 1919 the son of John Earl Cooley and Adda (Goldsboro) Cooley.
William formerly attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Fairchance, Pa.
He was a Life Member of the Harry Zeigler Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6319 in Greencastle, Pa.
He was a lifelong fan of Radio and Technology and an Amateur Radio Operator for over 60 years.
William was employed for many years as a Signal Maintainer with the former Western Maryland Railroad.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Alice Marie Connie (Conway) Cooley; and one daughter, Carol Wade Walter.
Surviving are children: Marcia McColman of Chester, Virginia, William J. Cooley and Richard Edward Cooley both of Hagerstown, Maryland; eight grand children and several great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance Pennsylvania on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Tim Rogers officiating.
Interment follows in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.
