Marie Grace Ann Rita (nee Cavaretti) Pavic, age 88, of Amherst, Ohio passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 2, 2016.

She was born Monday, July 2, 1928 the daughter of John Cavaretti and Francis (nee Lipari) Cavaretti in Brownsville, Pennsylvania.

Marie graduated from Brownsville High School in the Class of 1946.

After graduation, she worked as a Telephone Operator at Bell Telephone.

Marie married John Pavic on June 4, 1949 in Brownsville.

They moved to Lorain, Ohio where she was employed by Central Trust Bank.

Following her career, she became a homemaker and a mother —–the callings she loved the most!

Marie finished her career as a Customer Service Manager at PNC.

She enjoyed playing cards, going to casinos, and traveling.

She was a loving wife, had a nurturing heart, and would ‘mother’ anyone that would let her

Marie enjoyed cooking and entertaining.

She loved her family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Elizabeth Bjella and Rose (Tom) Doyle.

Marie is survived by her husband, John W. Pavic; sons: Jeff (Beth) Pavic of Rocky River, Ohio and Mark (Leslie) Pavic of Amherst, Ohio; daughter, Jill Pavic of Amherst, Ohio; grand children: Trent Pavic, Adam Pavic, Andrea Pavic, Nikolas Pavic, and Haley Pavic; and brother Mario Cavaretti of Amherst, New York.

Friends may call on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the SCHWARTZ, SPENCE, BOYER &Amp; COOL HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1124 West Fifth Street, Lorain, OH 44052 (440.244.5288)

Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 with Opening Prayers in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in the Saint Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain, with Rev. Father John C. Retar, Pastor of Saint Francis Cabrini Parish, as the Celebrant.

Burial will be private.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Anthony Building Fund, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain, OH 44052 or the Alzheimer’s Association, Post Office Box 74924, Cleveland, OH 44194.
