Police arrested a Uniontown man for allegedly stealing a man’s wallet and cutting his hand at the Mid-Towne Cafe on Morgantown Street.

Brian Keith Onesko, 35, allegedly knocked on the door at about 5 a.m. Friday and identified himself as another person before pushing his way inside.

The alleged victim, Frank Softa, said Onesko poked him in the back with an object and demanded his wallet, then shoved him into the counter and took his wallet containing his ID, bank cards and $25.

Uniontown police Cpl. Michael Bittner said Softa had a deep cut on his hand, which appeared to have muscle coming out of it, and a deep cut on his thumb.

He was treated at Uniontown Hospital.

Onesko was arraigned Sunday on charges of robbery, criminal trespass, simple assault, theft and receiving stolen property and lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $75,000 bond.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 18 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros.
