Richard Douglas Hartman

Richard Douglas ‘Rags’ Hartman, age 61, Smithfield, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday September 10th, 2016 at his home.
He was born on Wednesday, November 24th, 1954 in Uniontown, Pa., son of Douglas and Ruth Provance Hartman.
Ricky was a Protestant by faith having attended the Smithfield United Methodist Church and having an affiliation with the Roman Catholic Church.
He graduated from Albert Gallatin Senior High School and also attended the Fayette County Area Vocational- Technical School.
He was retired from Hatfield Power Plant and worked as an Electrician for the Maintenance Department.
He was a member of UWVA (Utility Workers Union of America Local 102, Mount Pleasant, Pa.
He was a Licensed Vehicle Inspector by the Pennsylvania Department of Motor Vehicles.
‘Rags’ was a Lifetime Member of the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department and the Point Marion Eagles, and a proud member of the NRA.
Among his interests—- which were many—-was fishing from his boat called ‘No Sense’, loved hunting, and collecting hats, an avid football fan, loved his antique cars, and an avid race car fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his aunt and uncle, Sara and Gilmore ‘Greaser’ Headrick.
He is survived by his fianceé, Rosa Corob; his daughter Jennifer Wilson and husband Ron Paul; grandchildren: Sydney and Seth; and his cousin, Billy Varndell and his wife Janet and their two sons of Smithfield, Pa.
Ricky had many friends including two very close friends: Rocky and Al.
The family will receive friends in the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME of Smithfield, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 13th, until 11:00 a.m. when Services will be conducted with the Reverend George W. McLaughlin officiating.
Interment follows in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
