Frank A. Horka Jr., age 64, of Uniontown, Pa. passed away on Saturday September 10, 2016 in St. Clair Hospital Pittsburgh after a courageous battle with leukemia.

He was born in Brownsville, Pa., Sunday November 4, 1951 to Frank A. Horka Sr. and Rose (Pinardi) Horka of Brownsville, Pa.

Frank was employed as a teacher with the Brownsville Area School District for 35 years before his retirement.

Frank loved to play golf, was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed playing music in the bands — his favorite being the polka band.

He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Thomas Polosky, Link McWilliams, Bob Adams.

Besides his parents Frank is survived by his wife, Connie (Polosky) Horka; brother, Steven Horka of Brooklyn, New York; sisters-in-law: Patricia Sutliff and her husband Harry of Columbia, Maryland, Louise Adams of Asheville, North Carolina Janet McWilliams of Carmichaels, Pa., Rita Cornell and Robert of Elkton, Maryland, Lucy Kender and her husband Andy of Perrysville, Ohio, Maryellen Polosky of Dunbar, Pa.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. where Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, September 15, at 9:30 a.m.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. in The Historic Church of Saint Peter, 300 Shaffner Ave., Brownsville, with Rev. Father Timothy J. Kruthaupt as Celebrant.

Private entombment in Resurrection Mausoleum at Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown.
