Glenn H. Townsend, 91, of Masontown, Pa., died Sunday September 11, 2016. He was born September 25, 1924 in Masontown, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Harry N. Townsend, Sr. and Helen H. (Honsaker) Townsend, his wife Mary Jean (Welsh) Townsend, three brothers: B. Wendell Townsend, Harry N. ‘Newt’ Townsend Jr., and Grant R. Townsend.

Surviving are his son Glenn Allen Townsend and wife Elizabeth of Masontown, Pa., and a sister Sue Miller and husband Robert of Orrville, Ohio.

Glenn worked as a sales representative for Pennzoil for 42 years.

He was a member of Valley Lodge No. 459 Masontown, Pa. and was a 57-year 32nd degree Master Mason, a 70 year life member of the Masontown Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Southwestern Chiefs and Asst. Chiefs Association, and a member of the Ridgeview Grange.

Family and Friends will be received in the BERNARD M. TOWNSEND FUNERAL HOME 220 South Main Street Masontown, Pa. today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, September 17 in the MASONTOWN MENNONITE CHURCH from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service with Rev. Harrison Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in the Greendale cemetery.

Masontown Volunteer Fire Department will hold a service on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Valley Lodge No. 459 will hold a service on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
