Leonard D. “Buster” Williams

Leonard D. ‘Buster’ Williams, age 81, of Monongahela, Pa., died Sunday, September 18, 2016.
He was born June 14, 1935 in Elizabeth, Pa., son of Leonard Williams and Mary (Zimmerman) Williams.
Leonard was a member of First United Methodist Church, West Newton, and the West Newton Sportsmen’s Club.
Leonard was a veteran of the Korean War serving as a Tank Commander in the United States Army.
Prior to retirement, he was employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport, Pa.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved his family and was a great father and husband.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Melissa Williams; brothers, Louis ‘Bumpsy’ Williams and Claude ‘Bob’ Williams.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Shirley (Contenti) Williams; children: Terri Williams Coulter and her husband Don of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Brenda Collins and her husband Bob of Penncraft, Pa., Richard Williams of Uniontown, Pa., Scott Hovanec and his wife Patty of Collinsburg, Pa., Mark Williams of Monessen, Pa., and Marguerite Kuiros of North Huntingdon, Pa.; grandchildren: Keri Anne Huey, Richard Williams, Erica Williams, and several other grand children and great grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn Chomas and partner Goldie of Mount Pleasant, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at J. WILLIAM MCCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME, INC., 901 Vine Street, West Newton, PA 15089 (724.872.6699) where Services will be held on Wednesday, September 21st, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment with Full Military Rites and Honors will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
The family thanks Viaquest Hospice and the staff of the 4th and 7th floors at Mon Valley Hospital.
