On Thursday, September 22, 2016, the life of Lino Antonucci came to end; however, his legacy, lessons, and impact will last in perpetuity.

On February 6, 1921, Giovanni Antonucci and Maria Calvisi Antonucci welcomed Lino into the world. He thereafter dedicated his life to serving his family, faith, community, and country.

He graduated from Brownsville Area High School in 1940.

He thereafter enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and served in McCook, Nebraska.

Once the war ended, he returned to his hometown and married his high school sweetheart – Viola Orelli.

Later in his life, he owned and operated Antonucci’s – a local and beloved restaurant and tavern. Through this establishment, Lino touched many lives by starting the first local golf league and football club, sponsoring fundraisers, and donating to many charities.

He was fiercely proud of his Italian heritage. He equally was proud to be a member of the Sons of Italy, Frank Ricco Lodge, which afforded him the opportunity to volunteer at bingo events and spaghetti dinners.

Once Lino retired, he became active with the American Legion Honor Guard and dutifully participated in military funerals.

Amidst all of his commitments, Lino remained a loyal, loving, and supportive cornerstone for his family and a devout Catholic who worshipped and volunteered at The Historic Church of Saint Peter.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Viola (Orelli) Antonucci; and his brothers, Mario Antonucci and Erminio Antonucci.

Lino is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Illar and her husband James Illar; grandson, Derek Illar; grandson, Jarod Illar and his wife Crystal Illar; great grand daughters: Emma Illar and Grace Illar; and sister, Mary Moncini.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, September 26, 2016 at SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street in Brownsville, Pennsylvania from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The Frank Ricco Sons of Italy Lodge No. 731 will conduct Services at the Funeral Home on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
