Marcine (Helmick) McMinn
Marcine (Helmick) McMinn, age 93, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Friday, September 23, 2016 after a brief illness.
She was born October 2, 1922 in Nemacolin, Pa. a daughter of William Helmick and Nancy (Kennedy) Helmick.
Marcine was a graduate of Cumberland Township High School.
She resided most of her life in the Cumberland Township area.
She worked at Ann’s Dress Shop, Grace Shop, and at Edward’s Department Store all in Carmichaels for over 39 years.
Mrs. McMinn was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Masontown, Pa., a former member of the Glade Presbyterian Church and the choir, and a current member of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels where she was active with the choir.
She enjoyed baking and loved her family.
On June 18, 1942, Marcine married Edward L. McMinn. He died on February 3, 1978.
Also deceased are her parents; brother, William Helmick; and sister, Delores McLaughlin.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia A. Geiss and her husband Frederic of Wilton Manors, Florida; a grand son, Gregory Martin and his fiancée Joanne of Coral Springs, Florida; three great grand children: Chase Martin Shane Martin, and Kyler Martin; a sister, Nancy Johnson and her husband Greg of Heath, Ohio; brother-in-law, Paul McMinn and his wife Janice of Carmichaels, Pa.; sisters-in-law: Faye McMahon of Landsdale, Pa., Dorothy Helmick of Carmichaels, Pa., and Betty McMinn of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME (724.966.5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa., where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. P. Keith Larson will officiate.
Interment will follow in Glades Cemetery, Carmichaels, Pa.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, Post Office Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
