Mill Run man arrested for ethnic intimidation; weapons cache found

A Mill Run man with an extensive criminal history was arrested Thursday morning after he allegedly made racially charged threats to a delivery man last week. Police found a cache of weapons in his residence.
Franklin Davis Roadman, 54, of Clay Run Road is charged in two cases for ethnic intimidation, terroristic threats, harassment and prohibited possession of firearms.
Two men, one who is black, were delivering a bunk bed set to a trailer behind Roadman’s property when he allegedly threatened Anthony Phillip Davis Sr., telling him to get off his property. He allegedly used racial slurs against Davis, saying he could beat him, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case.
Roadman was carrying a cane, which he allegedly held aggressively and told Davis to fight him. Police allege he threatened to stab Davis and reached into his pockets, then threatened to shoot Davis, saying he was going back into his residence to get a gun, police said.
Troopers responded, and Roadman admitted to having weapons inside the house but refused to come outside, according to court documents.
State police, along with members of the state police Hazardous Device and Explosives Section and Special Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant on the property Thursday morning. Court documents indicate they found six long guns, two handguns, a long gun barrel, long gun case, two holsters and ammunition in the residence.
Police said Roadman’s criminal history includes convictions for kidnapping in 1988 and for burglary in 1981 in Ohio.
He was arraigned Thursday afternoon before Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty Jr., who set bail at $10,000 in each case.
He is lodged in Fayette County Prison.
