Connellsville babysitter receives house arrest for corruption of minors
A Connellsville babysitter, who was accused of exposing herself and showing pornography to minors, has received intermediate punishment with house arrest as her sentence.
Dotti Marie Rohm, 34, was ordered by Fayette County Judge Linda Cordaro to undergo one year of intermediate punishment with two months to be served on house arrest with electronic monitoring.
In 2014, Rohm was the babysitter in charge of caring for two brothers, a 12-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, at a residence in Connellsville Township.
According to the criminal complaint, the mother of the boys told police that her son told his therapist that Rohm had inappropriately touched the boy and exposed herself to him at the family’s home.
The mother also told police that Rohm pushed her 12-year-old son against a dresser and exposed her breasts to him.
When police interviewed the boys, the complaint said, the 12-year-old boy became visibly upset and started crying during the interview as he relayed what allegedly happened.
The complaint also said when police interviewed the 15-year-old boy, he told them that he doesn’t like Rohm because she broke his iPhone and she fondled him more than once. Both boys told police that Rohm showed them pornographic movies.
Rohm was given credit for time served from Jan. 9 to Jan. 12 when she was apprehended on a bench warrant on a probation violation related to the incident.
As a special provision of her sentence, Rohm is to have no contact with the boys and their mother.
In February, Rohm pleaded no contest to the charge of corruption of minors, which she waived to county court during her 2015 preliminary hearing while the remaining charges including criminal mischief, harassment, indecent assault forcible compulsion and indecent exposure were dismissed.
