George Babko
George Babko, age 85, of Brownsville, Pa., died on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at his home.
He was born on April 17, 1931 to the late Mike and Mary Babko.
He was a member of The Historic Church of Saint Peter, Sons of Italy, social member of the Hiller Volunteer Fire Department, Nemacolin Country Club, and the Fayette County Senior Golf League.
He was a veteran of the Korean War.
George retired from Washington Steel after 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Amelia Theresa (Merlo) Babko; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Pete and John, and sister Ann (Babko) Housher.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Wednesday 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the The Historic Church of Saint Peter, Brownsville, with Rev Father Timothy J. Kruthaupt as celebrant
Entombment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park where Full Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Posts 295, 838, 940 and 275.
The Sons of Italy Frank Ricco’s Lodge 731 will conduct Services on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
