A former Mount Pleasant Area High School volunteer football coach was held for court on all charges Thursday for alleged inappropriate contact with teenage boys.

Ty Cameron Holler, 23, of Latrobe is facing two felony counts of unlawful contact with a minor and two misdemeanor counts each of obscene/sexual material and corruption of minors.

The two teens, who were 15 and 16 at the time of the alleged crimes during the 2014-2015 school year, testified they did not send any explicit material to Holler. Both teens said they received a texted image of a topless woman from Holler’s phone.

The teens testified Holler had inappropriate conversations with them, mainly by text. These conversations allegedly included Holler asking the teens about sexual acts. He then allegedly asked the teens to “prove it,” which they inferred meant he wanted photographic evidence.

Holler’s attorney, Michael Ferguson of Latrobe argued the allegations did not substantiate the charges. He said the photo of the woman would not legally be considered “obscene,” and both teens testified they did not send Holler obscene images.

Magisterial District Judge Roger F. Eckels held Holler’s charges for the Westmoreland County Court of Common Pleas.

Holler is free on a $25,000 unsecured bond.
