Monessen police will file charges against a Monessen woman’s boyfriend following a domestic incident over the weekend. They later returned to apprehend her for a bench-warrant violation.

On April 22, police responded to a 911 call to the residence of Nikkia L. Jones, 40, of 320 Forest St., Monessen, as Jones reported that her boyfriend broke into her house and assaulted her, and she stated she had a gun and was going to shoot him.

Police arrived, and Jones told them that her boyfriend left the house. Police searched the area but did not locate him.

Jones stated that her boyfriend was mad because he thought she was cheating on him, even though she was at the residence with her daughter and his daughter at the time.

Jones told police that her boyfriend kicked the front door, breaking the door frame and the screen door and then went to the basement to take items out of a freezer.

While the two argued, the boyfriend grabbed Jones and threw her to the ground, hit her several times about the head and body and even bit her on the face, leaving a red mark, Jones reported.

Police also observed several bruises on her right arm, which Jones reported the boyfriend gave to her several days prior, but she refused medical attention.

Police then advised her to seek medical attention if the pain became worse and to seek a protection from abuse order against the boyfriend.

However, police returned to Jones’s home the next day regarding Jones having an active warrant out of Washington County for bad checks.

Police said Jones was taken into custody without incident and was picked up by the Westmoreland County Sheriffs and held in the Westmoreland County Prison on detainer from Washington County.

Police reported that they will charge Jones’s boyfriend with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief.
