John French “Jack” Osler

John French “Jack” Osler, 83, of South Connellsville, Pa., passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born October 22, 1933 in Connellsville Pa., a son of the late Charles and Coral (Collins) Osler.
Early on, Jack worked at the former Market Basket Grocery Store in Connellsville and then had worked as a Sheet Metal Fabricator for the former Rack Engineering Company, Connellsville. He later then worked for DNA Auto in Hunker, Pa., and as a Security Guard at Highlands Hospital.
He was a member of the South Connellsville Volunteer Fire Department and had worked with the Fire Police and the former South Connellsville Ambulance Department.
Jack liked bowling and softball and enjoyed working on the Chain Gang for the Connellsville Falcons football games.
He was member of the Connellsville Church of God, Breakneck Avenue.
Jack’s wife of 63 years, Kathryn (Green) Osler, who was in the same accident and also passed away from her injuries a day later on July 28, 2017 briefly survived him. Jack is also predeceased by his daughter Elizabeth Jane “Janie” Osler; his sister, Ruba Jean Osler; and his brothers Charles, Bob, Paul, Kenny, and his twin brother Jim.
Jack is survived by his children: Sharon Primus and husband Daniel, Laurie Guth-DuMontier and husband Richard, and John Alan Osler and wife Terra all of South Connellsville; his eight grandchildren; his eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Jack was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Family and Friends will be received for both Jack and Kathryn on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green St., Connellsville, (724.628.1430).
Additional viewing will be held for Jack and Kathryn on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., the hour of a Funeral Service for them in the CONNELLSVILLE CHURCH OF GOD, 126 Breakneck Avenue, Connellsville, PA 15425, with Rev. Nelson Confer officiating.
Interment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.
South Connellsville Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a Service in funeral home Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
