Walter E. “Wally” Mastowski, 71, of Normalville, Pa., passed away August 7, 2017.

He was born July 30, 1946 in Connellsville, Pa. son of the late Walter R. and Geraldine D. (Fullem) Mastowski of Normalville.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son-in- law, Jeremy Copeland.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lynn Mastowski of Normalville He is also survived and adored by his seven daughters: Robin Reed of Normalville, Brenda Panzella and husband David of Bullskin Township, Lori Nicholson and husband Jeff of Normalville, Carla DeStefano and fiancé Gary Dempsey of Bullskin Township, Marla Burkholder and husband Greg of Mill Run, Pa., Heather Henry and husband Mark of Normalville, and Nadene Copeland and the late Jeremy Copeland of South Connellsville, Pa.

He is also survived by stepdaughters Tiffany Fuller and husband Shawn of Indian Head, Pa., and Samantha Smith and companion Jarrod of Dunbar, Pa., and stepson Tim Smith and girlfriend Brittney of Normalville. He has 20 grandchildren: Sean Reed; Leah and Allyson Panzella; Jeffrey, Taylor, Haylee, Kaylee and Alyssa Nicholson; Mason and Julia DeStefano; Justin and Justine Burkholder; Ayden and Ava Henry; Rilynn and Alexis Copeland; Gabrielle and Hunter Smith; Jarrod and Jacob Whoric; and five great-grandchildren: Brody, Kinley, Skylar, Brentley and Jessalyn. He is also survived by his loving siblings: a brother, Robert D. Mastowski of Connellsville, Pa., and sisters, Karen Tressler and husband Dane of Normalville and Patricia A. Johnson also of Normalville.

He was Protestant by faith.

Walter’s love of trucks and logging began when he started driving at age 16. For more than 50 years, he owned and operated his own trucking company. During that time, he also worked for his father at the Mastowski & Fullem Lumber Company in Normalville.

Although his tractor trailers were his number one hobby, Walter also enjoyed hunting, fishing with his grandchildren and spending time with his family.

Walter will be dearly missed by his large extended family and all who knew him.

Family and friends will be received today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC. at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Road, Melcroft, Pa., (724.455.2310) where a Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 11, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Randy Newell officiating.

A Committal Service and interment will follow in the Normalville Cemetery.
