Linda L. Davis LaClair

3 min read

Linda L. (Davis) LaClair, “Nan”, age 78, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 17, 2017 while at home with her loving family at her side.

She was born March 30, 1939.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert C. Davis Sr. and Elsie G. (Wilson) Davis; two infant sons, Harry C. LaClair III and Timothy A. LaClair; siblings, Robert Davis, Jim Davis, Dale Davis, June Brown, Beverly Livingston, Polly McGee; and in-laws, Harry C. LaClair Sr. and Ethel LaClair.

Linda graduated from South Union High School in 1956 and was previously employed as a Unit Clerk in the Emergency Department of Uniontown Hospital and later retired in 1994 from Blass Reilly Surgical Associates so that she could babysit her first born grandchild, Austin.

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed many a day at the softball field watching her grad daughters play. She was so proud of the young adults they have become. Her family meant the world to her and she would do whatever was needed to make sure they were all happy.

Linda always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes.

Left to rejoice in her memories are her husband of 60 years, Harry C. LaClair Jr.; her loving daughter, Pamela LaClair (Nicholson) Coleman and husband Marshall; son Larry LaClair, whom she adored and would light up any time he came into the room and his fianceé Michelle Silbaugh; grandchildren: Austin Nicholson, MacKenzie LaClair, Sidney LaClair; step-grandchildren: Justin Coleman and wife Adah and Destiny Trump and fiancé Kyle Rankin; and step-great-grand children Connor Coleman and Chandler Rankin; Michele LaClair, mother of MacKenzie and Sidney; and many brother-in-laws, sisters- in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

A special thank you to caregiver Donna Wynn, Amedisys Hospice nurses and aides (especially Joyce, Haley, Lisa and, of course, Pastor Mike). Thank you also to Stella Shaffer at Christ United Methodist Church for all the get-well cards… Mom truly looked forward to reading them each time one arrived.

Linda was the best wife, mom, nan that anyone could ask for. We were granted the privilege of caring for her when she most needed us and are truly thankful we were able to be with her as she peacefully departed to go home with the Lord.

Friends will be received in the SHELL FUNERAL HOME, INC. 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., Sunday, August 20, from 2 to 7 p.m. and Monday until 11 a.m., the hour of Service. Pastor Michael Lyon will officiate.

Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
