Eugene Ward Sr. “Duckie”
Eugene L. Ward Sr. of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Sunday morning December 10, 2017 in the Hillside Manor.
Eugene was born on Monday, February 24, 1930 in Gillespie Hollow, Fayette City, Pa., the son of Edith (Gardner) Ward and Arlow Ward.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirley Ward (2008) son-in-law, Rob Mayher; and brother, Don Ward.
“Duckie”, as he was known to his friends, was a United States Army Veteran and a member of AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood, Pa.
He was an avid sports fan. He loved all the Pittsburgh sports teams, hunting, and going to the casinos.
He is survived by his three children: Shirley Kish and husband Dana of Brook Park, Ohio, Eugene Ward Jr. and wife Cindy of Uniontown, Pa., Denise Mayher of Uniontown, Pa.; grand children: Danielle Rizzo and husband Santino of Ohio, Matthew Kish and wife Anne Marie of Ohio, Justin Ward and wife Emily of Fairchance, Pa., and Kathleen Mayher of Uniontown, Pa.; great grandchildren: Alex Kish, Evan Kish, Emma Ward, Blake Ward; other relatives; many friends.
Friends will be received in the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Wednesday December 13 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m and Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service.
Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa., where Military Rites and Honors will be accorded by AMVETS Post 103.
