Linda K. Kifer Huwar Masneri, 75, formerly of Perryopolis, Pa., passed away the morning of Friday, December 15th 2017, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina, following an illness.

Born on Friday, February. 13th, 1942 in Brownsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Ruth Kifer.

She married Arnold Huwar on October 14, 1961. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1980.

She married Dr. Arthur “Muzzy” Masneri on September 17, 1983, and they shared 34 years together. He survives in Oak Ridge, North Carolina.

Linda was a graduate of Brownsville High School and continued her education at California State College earning a teaching degree in English.

Linda was a member of Saint John the Baptist Parish, Perryopolis, Pa., where she had previously served as a Lector and a member of the Altar Society.

Linda worked as the Librarian for the Perryopolis Public Library, as a Bank Teller and as a Caseworker for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare where she then became a Supervisor.

Linda was an avid reader and also enjoyed baking and sewing.

Linda’s greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren. She and Muzzy logged many miles traveling to various events to watch their 16 grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children:, Arnold “Brad” Huwar and wife Meg, Michael Huwar and wife Judy all of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Laura Matarazzo and husband John of New Castle, Pa.; two step sons: Kevin Masneri of Roanoke Virginia and Dr. David Masneri and wife Shannon of Oak Ridge, North Carolina; a brother, John “Jack” Kifer and wife Philomena; a sister, Penny Timcheck and husband Bill; and 16 grandchildren.

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 29th, 2017 at SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, Perryopolis, at 10:30 am.
