Roland R. Couch
Roland R. Couch, age 61, of Mount Holly Springs, Pa., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his residence.
He was born November 22, 1956 in Uniontown, Pa., to Emmett and Joann (Loukota) Couch.
Roland was a history buff and was especially interested in World War II.
He was an owner/operator over-the-road Trucker and was a Jack-of-All-Trades: mechanic, engineer, electrician, fabricator, trucker, biker, machine operator.
Roland had a strong work ethic but loved to play hard too, including driving fast and drag racing.
He enjoyed classic country music and trucking songs, especially “Roll On”” by Alabama. He loved his German Shepherd, “Shelby”, named after his favorite car, the Ford Shelby GT 500.
Roland was a member of Cumberland Star Lodge 197 F. & A.M. and the Mount Holly Springs American Legion Post 674.
Roland was a mentor and friend to many and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Palko) Couch; two daughters: Stephanie Lynn (and significant other Nino Vella) Couch and Theresa Marie (husband Justin) Sheriff; one son, Nicholas James (wife Kelly) Couch; one sister, Paula J. Works; one brother, Emmett E. Couch II; nine grand children: Dalton J. Turner, Kaylie M. Clark, Brody L. Sheriff, Easton B. Sheriff, Hayden N. Couch, Travis B. Couch, Austin J. Couch, Santo Vella and Gianni Vella; one nephew, Stephen M. Works; two nieces: Allison L. Works-Honsaker and Shauna L. Couch and her son, Jaxson; numerous other loving nieces and nephews.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roland R. Couch Jr.; and brother-in-law, Bernard Ray Works.
Friends will be received in DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, Pa., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., the hour of Service in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Sansom Cemetery, Farmington, Pa.
