John Joseph Depto Jr., Veteran of the United States Army 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky
John Joseph Depto Jr., 76, Chestnut Ridge, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
He was born November 10, 1940 in Royal, Pa., the son of John Depto Sr. and Rosemarie (Schwab) Depto.
John was a member of the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell. Kentucky.
He was retired from the Maple Creek Mine.
He was a lifelong member of Saint Hedwig Roman Catholic Church in Smock, and a member of the UMWA, the NRA, and many local gun clubs
He loved the outdoors and camping.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Frances (Trafecanty) Depto, with whom he just celebrated 50 years of marriage; daughter, Danielle (Depto) Johnson and husband Keith of Brier Hill, Pa.; son, Shawn Depto and wife Anita of Uniontown, Pa.; four grandchildren: Derek Johnson, Darren Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Kingston Depto; sisters: Betty Sabatine and husband Mel of Connellsville, Pa., Patty Sheroke and husband Ted of Medina, Ohio; nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m where a Prayer Service will be held on Friday, January 6, at 10:00 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. Cecelia Roman Catholic Church, Grindstone, Pa., with Rev. Father Robert T. Lubic as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Smock, Pa.
