Rose M. “Chuch” (Kolar) Smargie, Administrator for 47 years for the Kikta Furniture Store in Masontown
Rose M. ‘Chuch’ (Kolar) Smargie, 92, of Masontown, Pa., died on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Uniontown Hospital.
She was born August 25, 1924 in Gallatin, Pa., daughter of Martin and Martha (Malinsky) Kolar
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Pete Smargie in 1967; her parents; and siblings, Ann Christoff, Martin Kolar, Betty Barto; and infant brothers, George and Joseph.
Rose was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Saint Mary Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, Pa.
For 47 years she worked as an Administrator for the Kikta Furniture Store in Masontown, Pa.
She graduated from Masontown High School, Class of 1942.
She loved taking care of her home and family, and was a wonderful wife, mother, grand mother, and sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Rose Ann Tinkey of Cranberry, Pa.; two grandsons: Matthew Tinkey and Mark Tinkey; a great granddaughter, Alivia Tinkey; two brothers, Carl J. Kolar of Masontown, Pa., and John A. Kolar and wife Carole of Uniontown, Pa.; sister-in-law, Ann Kolar of Connellsville, Pa.; brother-in-law, Henry Barto of Toronto, Ohio; many loving nieces and nephews and their families; and a special cousin, Bill Raho of Uniontown, Pa.
The family thanks her devoted caregiver, Lisa Jones, and also the staff of Uniontown Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion.
Friends will be received at the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today, January 9, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday, January 10, until 10:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, Pa.
Interment will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help St. Mary Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa.
