Lawrence Junior Sanders, United States Army Veteran of the Korean War
Lawrence Junior Sanders, 85, of Jefferson, formerly of Bobtown, Pa., died Monday, January 9, 2017 at home.
Lawrence was born in Monongalia County, West Virginia on July 22, 1931 son of Frank and Myrtle Sanders.
He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army and was retired from Security Forces, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lawrence J. Sanders Jr.; three brothers and two sisters.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Grace B. (Cress) Sanders; their daughter Pamela ‘Penny’ Sanders of Washington, Pa.; a sister, Violet Marie Sanders of Beaumont, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., Friday January 13, from 10 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. when the Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels, Pa., where Full Military Rites and Honors will be accorded.
