John Junior Hodge
John Junior Hodge, age 74, of Uniontown, Pa. peacefully passed away, Monday, January 9 2017.
He was born in Georges Township, Uniontown, Pa. on March 31, 1943 to John Norris Hodge and Helen Hodge.
John was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps who also served as Commander and Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3514.
He was a Welder and Heavy Machine Operator with Local 66 out of Monroeville, Pa., as well as a Long Haul Truck Driver with CRST Trucking.
In his retired years, he served as President of the Marshall Manor Residence Board and later held office on the Fayette County Housing Board.
He loved to fish and shoot pool and held the title of ‘Top Shooter’ for many years.
He was a member of Faith Assembly Church and loved the Lord.
He was respected, loved and admired by many. He will be greatly missed!
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gladys and husband Lee Stubs; brother Charles S. Hodge Karen A. and husband Melvin Mickens, Lutrisha A. Braxton, Matthew J. Jefferson III, Arnold L. Jefferson, Stella A. Jefferson; his dear son Jason A. Hodge; grandson, John A. Hodge
He is survived his wife Jacqueline (Jefferson) Hodge; three brothers: Nathaniel Hodge (Bertha) of Uniontown, Norris Hodge of Uniontown and Raymond Hodge; and two sisters: Catherine Horton, Geneva Francis Austin from Pittsburgh, Pa.; Anita Jones (Darnel) of Penn Hills, Pa.; Anthony Jefferson of Uniontown, Pa.; children John Hodge (Marlice) of Spotsylvania Virginia, Jessie Hodge of Washington, D.C., Angela Singleton (Damon) of Columbia, Maryland, and Joshua Hodge of Uniontown, Pa. He will be greatly missed by his 10 loving grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received on Saturday, January 21, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., the hour of Service at the LANTZ FUNERAL HOME INC., 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pennsylvania
