Catherine Marie “K.K.” Gallo

Catherine Marie ‘K.K.’ Gallo, 85, a beloved life-long resident of Newell, Pa., passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at her home in Newell.
She was born April 17, 1931 in Newell, Pa., a daughter of Ralph Gallo and Sarah ‘Sally’ (McCune) Gallo.
Catherine was a member of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Perryopolis and the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Newell, and a member of The Catholic Daughters of America.
Catherine retired from the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Peter Gallo, Dominick Gallo, John Gallo, Ralph ‘Shay’ Gallo, Anthony ‘Ducky’ Gallo, Joseph ‘JoJo’ Gallo; and two sisters, Caroline Massari and Carmella Masterann.
She will be sadly missed by her sister, Anna Mae Gallo, with whom she resided in Newell; her brother, Alexander Gallo of Tyler, Texas; niece, Jean Ann Gallo of Belle Vernon, Pa.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and Friends will be received Monday, January 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. in ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Main Street, Fayette City, PA (724.326.5621), www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held Tuesday, January 24 at 9:30 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville Pa., with Reverend Father Timothy J. Kruthaupt as the Celebrant.
Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
