Philip P. Pantalo, 90, Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at his home.

He was born January 6 1927 at Little Brownfield, Pa., son of Joseph and Genevieve (Ottaviani) Pantalo.

Philip loved his family very much and loved serving his community and country.

He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army and a member of AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood, and American Legion Post 51 in Uniontown.

He served as Chief of Police for both Laurel Highlands and South Union Township and was a Pennsylvania State Constable and a First Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol.

He was predeceased by his parents; his loving wife Annamary (Shaffer) Pantalo; a daughter, Darlene Pantalo Varndell two sons, Harry Joseph Pantalo, Randy Pantalo; three brothers and three sisters, Patsy Pantalo, Jacob Pantalo, George Pantalo, Philomina Mullen, Annie Agreste, and Mafalda Soom.

Surviving are five children: Diane Pletcher and husband William, Jenny Shroka and husband Patrick, Sandra Pantalo, and Mary Catherine Rockwell and husband Larry all of Uniontown, Pa., Philip A. Pantalo and wife Tina of Fairchance, Pa.; grand children: Philip Varndell, Harry Joseph Pantalo, Robert Varndell Jr., William Pletcher Jr., Jeremiah Pletcher Sr., Thomas A. Modispaw, Antonio Marco Pantalo, Ryan Pantalo, Anna Mary Jennot, Diane Marie Pletcher, Randa Pantalo; numerous great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren: and a brother, Louis Pantalo and his wife Lucy of Uniontown, Pa.

Friends will be received in DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, Pa., on Monday, January 23, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday until 10:00 a.m., the hour of Service. Pastor Charles O’Brien will officiate.

Interment will be in Sylvan Heights Cemetery
