An alleged rape victim’s digital media and cellphone records are to be reviewed and given to the defense of the Uniontown man accused of assaulting her.

Fayette County Judge Steven Leskinen ordered prosecutors to review all digital media, cellphone text messages, Snapchat, Facebook or any other social media accounts maintained by a woman who said she was raped by Shane Brown, 21.

On Dec. 22, 2015, the alleged victim’s father dropped her off at Brown’s home after two had been talking for several months on Facebook.

While there, the woman told police, Brown raped her.

The Herald-Standard does not identify those who allege they are victims of rape.

In his order, Leskinen directed the prosecution to review all the relevant digital media from 6 p.m. Dec. 19 to midnight on Dec. 25, 2015.

He added that if the prosecution does not wish to disclose the results of that review to the defense, they they will need to file a motion to redact or otherwise have the court review the information by the beginning of February.

In May, Brown was charged with rape forcible compulsion, rape of an unconscious victim, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault without consent and similar charges.

Brown is free on $35,000 bond.
