One man indicted on federal drug trafficking charges has been sentenced, while another has pleaded guilty to similar charges of drug trafficking.

Kwame Eddings of Uniontown was sentenced by U.S. District Judge David S. Cercone to serve 48 months in a federal prison on the charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute a quantity of cocaine.

Eddings pleaded guilty to that charge in October in federal court.

Upon his release from prison, Eddings will be on supervised release for a term of three years.

Another man indicted on similar charges, Kent Ramsey of Uniontown, changed his plea to guilty on the charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute cocaine before Cercone last week.

Ramsey’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 6.

The two men were part of the dismantling of what officials called the “largest interconnected drug organization” in the region early this year with over 50 indictments and involved federal, state and local authorities in multiple counties.
