Stephen J. (Dusty) Haluska

Dusty (Stephen J.) Haluska completed his earthly journey on July 15, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital.

Dusty was born on March 14, 1950 and was the son of Peter and Anna Haluska, who with Pete’s father and mother before them, owned and operated Haluska’s General Store in Daisytown, Pa., for over 50 years.

Dusty’s hobby since his

retirement was making kielbasa using his Dad’s recipe and original sausage maker and sharing it with his friends.

On July 29, Dusty and his wife Kathy (Patterson) would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.

They are the parents of two children: Jennifer (Mick) Teeter and Jeffrey (Kristina) Haluska.

Dusty’s heritage will live on through his six beautiful and amazing grandchildren whom he adored and loved teasing: Arielle Teeter, Ayden Teeter, Alysse Teeter, Owen Haluska, Ryan Haluska and Amiya Teeter all residing in Brownsville, Pa. Dusty is also survived by his brother, Peter (Davinee) Haluska of Willoughby, Ohio, and two nieces, Laurel (Scott) Davis and Marcy (Art) Richards and their families. Dusty leaves behind his two beloved pets, Jackson and Papita, who will miss him deeply.

Dusty was a member of the American Legion, the Italian American Club in California, Pa., and the California Hill Gun Club.

Dusty was a Journeyman Carpenter and supervised construction projects in Pittsburgh, Southpointe and West Virginia during his 35 year career.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to Humane Animal Rescue, Attention: Donations, 6926 Hamilton Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15208 or to the Brownsville Free Public Library, 100 Seneca Street, Brownsville, PA 15417.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME at 515 Front Street in Brownsville, Pa., on Tuesday, July 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, July 19, until the hour of Service at 11:00 a.m.

Immediately following the Service, all Dusty’s friends are invited to join the family at the California Hill Gun Club for a Celebration of Dusty’s life.
