Fred “Ted” Cooper Leighty III

Fred ‘Ted’ Cooper Leighty III, 80, Dunbar, Pa., died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at home.

He was born March 23, 1937 in Connellsville, Pa., son of Fred Cooper Leighty Jr. and Christabel Blair Leighty.

He was a former member of the Vanderbilt Church of Christ and a graduate of Dunbar Township High School, class of 1955.

Ted retired as an Inspector for PennDot.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Karen (Martinchalk) Leighty; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Tina Martin and husband Chuck, Linda Martin and husband Rick, and Robert Martinchalk and wife Lisa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harold ‘Pete’ Leighty.

Per Ted’s request, there was no public visitation.

Arrangements were under the direction of the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar.

Interment was in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
