Michael “Mickey” Joseph Sroka

Michael ‘Mickey’ Joseph Sroka, 71, of Houston and Masontown, Pa., passed away Monday July 17, 2017 at home in Masontown, Pa.
He was born in Canonsburg, Pa., on November 19, 1945 the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (Spencer) Sroka.
He was a man of many talents. He worked in construction and had his own business, Mick’s Back Hoe Service. In earlier years he owned an Auto Body Repair Shop and also worked as a Meat Cutter.
Mickey loved the outdoors: hunting, fishing, gardening, as well as tinkering with his many tractors. He was fond of dancing and was active with the Greensburg Area Dance Party. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends —– especially his long time buddy, Jimmy Neil.
He will be remembered for having a genuine heart, always lending a helping hand, and enjoying the simplest things in life.
Mickey is survived by his daughter, Dorothy ‘Marie’ Saieva and husband James, Houston, Pa.; his grandchildren: Vincenzo ‘Jimmy’ Saieva III and Hunter Leigh Saieva; siblings: Andrew ‘Sonny’ Hullak and wife Patty of Canonsburg, Pa., Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Orsini-Berton of Houston Pa., Peggy Conklin and husband Ron of Eighty Four, Pa.; step daughter, Melissa Schell and husband Edwin and grandson Aidan of West Alexander, Pa.; long time companion, Janice Myers of Masontown, Pa.; many nieces and nephews
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Ave., Masontown, Pa., on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 2 until 6 p.m. the hour of Service in the Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Byres officiating.
Private interment.
