Donald F. "Don" Maglietta

Donald F. Maglietta, age 69, beloved husband for 34 years of Denise ‘Doty’ (nee Omerza); loving father of Jason (wife Laurie) and Domenico (wife Tiffany); devoted grandfather of Jack; dearest brother of Herbert (wife Forestine) and the late Carl (wife Sara), Thomas (wife Kathi), Marsha Fielder (husband Gerald, deceased) and his twin Ronald; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Donald was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran.

Don was born on May 14, 1948 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania and passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017.

He was a resident of Novelty for 35 years, formerly of Painesville, Ohio and Brownsville, Pennsylvania.

Don was a parishioner of Saint Anselm Catholic Church for over 31 years where he was an Eucharistic Minister, coached the track team at Saint Anselm, member of the RCIA team, confirmation, and volunteered at the festival.

He graduated from Brownsville High School in Pennsylvania, received his Associates Degree from Penn State University, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from California University of Pennsylvania.

Don retired from Lincoln Electric in 2015 where he was a Design Drafter.

He loved golf, fishing, cooking, and traveling, especially on cruises.

Don was a Pittsburgh Steelers, Indians, Cavaliers and Penn State fan. He loved Christmas, was a huge Disney fan and loved to celebrate his birthday.

Don will be remembered most as a caring, witty, fun loving, outgoing and personable man. He was hard working, family-oriented and giving. Don will be dearly missed.

Relatives and Friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the SAINT ANSELM CATHOLIC CHURCH 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio.

Military Honors will follow.

Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory.

Private burial at All Souls Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Don at the DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND, 12811 Chillcothe Road (Route 306, just south of Mayfield Road) FRIDAY 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. and at the CHURCH on SATURDAY MORNING from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
