Dorothy Jean (Wood) Foster, age 83, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at Uniontown Hospital on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 with her family by her side.

She was born in Dillonvale, Ohio on November 7, 1933 a daughter of John Wood and Charlotta Vera (Burrier) Wood.

She was preceded by her parents; her husband Robert P. Foster; one brother and three sisters.

Dorothy was a 1951 graduate of South Union High School. She worked as an Operator for Bell Telephone and was self-employed as a Nannie.

Dorothy was a long time devoted member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Evangelical Church where she played hand bells and also volunteered assisting in several different activities that were held at the church.

Dorothy was loved by so many. She was kind, loving and caring.

Surviving are son, Rob Foster and his girlfriend Melanie Hyjurick; daughter, Becky Brennsteiner and her boyfriend Brandon Zinsky; her buddy, Ryder Zinsky; and her loving dog, Levi.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pennsylvania where the family will greet family and friends today, Sunday, July 30, 2017 from Noon until 2 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m.

Visitation will continue Monday, July 31, in ST. PAUL’S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a service elebrating Dorothy’s life at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Kevin Anderson will officiate.

Interment will follow in Chalk Hill Lutheran Cemetery.
