Margaret “Marge” P. (Pivovarnik) Geisel

Margaret P. (Pivovarnik) Geisel, age 87, of Brownsville, Pa., and formerly of Allison No. 1, died peacefully on Wednesday May 31, 2017

She was born on November 8, 1929 in Stewart, Pennsylvania to the late John and Verna (Shimko) Pivovarnik.

Marge was a former member of Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Brownsville, Pa., and currently was a member of The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville, Pa.

She was a graduate of Redstone High School, Class of 1947.

She and her late husband Jim owned and operated the former full service Mobil Gas and Service Station on Route 40 (National Pike) in Brownsville for many years until their retirement.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Geisel, whom she married on September 27, 1952 in Saint Mary’s R.oman Catholic Church, Brownsville, Pa., and by her only brother, John Pivovarnik.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Marge is survived by her two children Barbara Gera and her husband Ted of Grindstone, Pa., and James J. Geisel of Brownsville with whom she made her home.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon when a Prayer Service will be held followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. in The Historic Church of Saint Peter with Reverend Father Timothy J. Kruthaupt as celebrant.

Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park.
