Uniontown police released additional information as they continue their investigation into an armed robbery at BFS Foods on Morgantown Street at about 5 p.m. Sunday.

Police interviewed employees who said the woman asked for 21 packs of Newport cigarettes in two varieties.

The cashier told her he had to keep the cigarettes on the counter until the transaction was completed because of previous cigarette thefts. The woman then pulled a knife from her pocket, saying she was sorry she had to do this, police said.

The woman pointed the knife at the two employees and demanded the money from the register, the cigarettes on the counter and a bag for the cigarettes, according to police.

Police said she fled on foot.

The suspect was described as a black woman wearing a blue dress and missing teeth.
