David A. “Herk” Remington
David A. ‘Herk’ Remington, age 82, of Brownsville, Pa., died on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.
He was born on November 2, 1934 in Charleroi, Pa., to the late Harry and Catherine (Moss) Remington.
He was a member of the Hiller Fire Hall.
He pitched horseshoes for Fayette Horseshoe Association.
David enjoyed reading, and spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Maddie.
He is survived by his wife, Martha I. Petrigash Remington; two children: David L. Remington and Colleen Franks and husband Gary; grand children: Shawn and wife Tina, Joshua, David D. and Matthew Remington, Beth and husband Ben Ganis, Jessica Franks; 10 great grandchildren: Brittany Polito and husband Nick, Bethany, Peyton, Shawn Jr., Taylor, Joshua Jr., Samantha, Matthew Jr., Lilly Remington, Lucas Ganis; brothers: Regis, Albert, Robert, Bernard, Edward, Michael; sisters: Theora Benson and Mary Lou Pellick.
He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Rebecca Remington; and brothers, John, Patsy and Harry.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. in The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville with Rev. Father Timothy J. Kruthaupt as celebrant.
Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park.
