George Edward Novotny
George Edward Novotny, age 92, of Brownsville, Pa., died in Thursday, June 22, 2017.
He was born on September 14, 1924 in Brier Hill, Pa., to the late Michael A. and Mary (Kanyok) Novotny.
George was a member of The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville.
George was a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army Air Corps and was a member of the VFW and also the American Legion.
He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Uniontown Senior Golf League.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Kielbasa) Novotny; and brother, Frank Novotny.
George is survived by two children: Debra Novotny of Gettysburg, Pa., and Michael Novotny of Brownsville, Pa.; three grandchildren: Michael Novotny II and wife Brooke, Derek Novotny, Bethany Novotny; great grandchildren: Josie, Lexus, Michael III; many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held on Monday at 9:00 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. in The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville with Rev. Father Timothy J. Kruthaupt as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Peter Cemetery with Full Military Rites an Honors accorded by American Legion Posts 295, 940 and 838.
