A Donora man had charges filed against him after he allegedly chased another man with a power drill wrapped in a towel when the two had a dispute over money.

Lawrence Martin, 54, of 446 McKean Ave. was charged with terroristic threats before Magisterial District Judge Larry Hopkins for an incident that occurred at 10:30 a.m. June 13.

According to Donora police, Martin encountered Edward Locker at 5th and McKean Avenue where Martin claimed that Locker owed him $380 and Locker claimed that Martin owed him $85.

Martin entered his apartment and came out with a power drill with a towel over it and told Locker, “I’ll kill you” and then chased Locker for 30 yards before Martin gave up and returned to his apartment, police said.

Locker flagged down a police officer and said Martin chased him with a gun.

Martin permitted police to search his apartment, and he showed the police how he chased Locker with a towel over the gun.

Police searched the apartment without locating a gun, but found a handgun bullet in a desk drawer.

A preliminary hearing for Martin has been scheduled for 9 a.m. July 27 before Hopkins.
