Lawrence Chauncey Thomas
Lawrence Chauncey Thomas, 74, Uniontown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2017 in the Uniontown Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania Wednesday, October 14, 1942 the son of Lawrence A. and Virginia Dare (Gribble) Thomas.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was stationed in Hamburg, Germany.
Following his time in the service Larry worked as a Coal Miner and was a Union Committee Officer in the local United Mine Workers of America.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Larry D. Thomas, Brian Patrick Thomas, and Erin (Thomas) Sepesy and her husband Nate all of Uniontown; his grand children: Ella Sepesy, Ivy Sepesy, Nathan Sepesy, Adria Thomas; his siblings: Joycelyn (Thomas) Costable and her husband Anielo of Vanderbilt, Pa., Dennis Thomas and his wife Helen of Miamisburg, Ohio, Kathleen (Thomas) Littleton and her husband Cecil of Tipp City, Ohio, and Joanne Thomas Nicholson; his many many friends from the Blue Moon Café in Uniontown; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received in STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown Pa., today, March 1, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, March 2, until 11 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti officiating.
Military Rites and Honors will be accorded by the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, Pa.
Interment follows in Sylvan Heights Cemetery
