Franklin L. “Frank” “Scooter” Henderson

Franklin L. ‘Scooter’ Henderson, age 83, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 in the Uniontown Hospital.

Frank was born July 2, 1933 in Uniontown, Pa., to William O. Henderson and Esther (Johnson) Henderson.

Frank was a former standout athlete for Uniontown High School.

He was an avid gardener and loved local teams Pirates, Penguins and Steelers.

Franklin was drafted in 1952 by the United States Army during which time he served in the Korean War. He was a long-time member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3514.

He was predeceased by his parents; brother, William; sister, Dorothy.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nelda Henderson; children: Franke (Doris), Ellsworth, Queen, Charles (Cindy), Marsha (Richard), Dwight and Rodger; grandchildren: Nicole, Natosha, Brittney, Alexis, McKenzie, Kelsie and Devon Henderson; great grandchildren: Avionna, Gianna and Xavier; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends will be received at the LANTZ FUNERAL HOME INC., 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pennsylvania Friday, March 10, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of the Service with the Reverend Vincent Winfrey Sr. officiating.

Interment with full military rites and honors will be in The National Cemetery of The Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
