Mary A. “Connie” (Conrad) Tunney
Mary A. “Connie” (Conrad) Tunney, of Blainesburg, Pa., age 95, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at home.
She was born on December 2, 1921 in Pittsburgh, Pa., daughter of George and Christine (Winwood) Conrad.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William Earl Tunney; brothers, Robert Conrad, Michael Conrad; grandson, Brian Dranzo; and her parents.
Devoted to the Lord, she was a member of the United Christian Church of California (Pa.) and previously the First Christian Church of Brownsville, Pa., where she was a member of the Choir for many years. She was also very involved in the church’s Youth Ministries.
Some of the things she enjoyed were painting, ceramics, bird watching, gardening, and collecting rocks and tea pots.
She was a true Scotsman and never missed the Highland Games.
She loved to go camping with her family and visit covered bridges
She is survived by a daughter, Sharyn Amos; two sons: Douglas (Debra) Tunney and Randy (Susan) Tunney; nine grandchildren: Kimberly (Shawn) Davis, Melissa (Bobby) Eicher, Robin (Justin) Huntsman Rachel (Dr. Aaron) Horsley, Bethany (Lt. Col. Charles) Hill, Douglas (Amanda) Tunney, Jeremy (Kandia) Tunney, Shawn (Cindy) Tunney, Patrick Tunney; and many great grandchildren.
Family and Friends will be received on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the UNITED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF CALIFORNIA, 499 East Malden Drive, Coal Center, PA 15423 and also on Saturday from 12 Noon until time of Services at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. David Chafin officiating.
Interment will follow in Redstone Cemetery, Brownsville, Pa.
