A Scottdale woman was charged with strangulation and harassment after she allegedly assaulted a juvenile in the early morning hours of March 8.

Police said the alleged victim left her grandmother’s home around 6:30 a.m. to go to school when Jeanine Marie Cominsky, 50, came out of her home on Roundtop Circle and began yelling at the the girl.

The affidavit alleges that Cominsky then approached the juvenile and grabbed her around the neck. The alleged victim told police it “felt like she was cutting off my circulation and I felt like I couldn’t breathe.”

Cominsky also allegedly slapped the girl in the face multiple times.

A preliminary hearing for Cominsky is scheduled for March 22 at 1:15 p.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Charles Moore.
