A semi tractor-trailer hauling solar panels overturned off of Route 40 in Wharton Township early Friday morning.

The truck driver was traveling eastbound toward Maryland at 5:11 a.m. when he allegedly steered the semi off the roadway to avoid hitting slowed traffic in front of him possibly due to slick roads according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Police said the truck driver reported that cars were stopping in front of him for no reason and tried to break and stop the trailer but could not.

There were no injuries reported.

Farmington Volunteer Fire Department and Pennsylvania State Police responded to the accident according to Fayette-911.

Burnworth’s Towing company is working to clean up the accident.
