Man identified in Bullskin Twp. fatal crash
State police have identified the victim in the two-vehicle crash in Bullskin Twp. Saturday night.
James E. Black, 39 of Acme was driving north on Pleasant Valley Road with three passengers when the crash occurred after 6 p.m. with a second vehicle also traveling north. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
Black struck a guide rail on the west side of the road, traveled over a slight embankment and hit a tree head-on.
Black was pronounced dead on scene by the Fayette County Coroner’s office.
Two children between the ages of 7-10 were in the backseat and a 39-year-old woman from Acme was in the passenger seat of the truck.
The Acme woman was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, one child was flown by medical helicopter to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and a second child was taken to Excela Health-Frick Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.
The severity of their injuries was not released.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 36-year-old woman from Connellsville was taken to Excela Health-Frick Hospital in Mt. Pleasant as a precaution.
