A Point Marion man has pleaded guilty to the indecent assault of a 12-year-old girl in 2014.

Bradley Ray Rice, 25, pleaded guilty to corruption of a minor and two counts of indecent assault before Fayette County Judge Nancy Vernon.

Rice inappropriately touched the girl at a home in Point Marion, police said, and then coerced her into having sex with him.

Prosecutors have requested a prison term of five to 10 years in exchange for the guilty plea and dropped a rape charge in the case.

As part of the plea, Rice is to have no contact with the girl or her family, according to court records.

Rice is lodged in the Fayette County Prison, awaiting his sentencing.

In an unrelated case, Kevin Michael Swanson, 39, of Markleysburg pleaded guilty to corruption of a minor.

In exchange for the guilty plea, also before Vernon, prosecutors agreed to drop the four original counts that included aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault to a person less than 16 years of age and added the charge of corruption of a minor.

The Herald-Standard does not identify victims of sexual assault.

Prosecutors requested a sentence of eight to 16 months intermediate punishment with eight months on electronic monitoring plus probation.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Swanson allegedly inappropriately touched a minor on several occasions from May 2014 to February 2015.

Swanson is free on $10,000 bond. He is represented by Attorney Shane Gannon.

He is scheduled to be sentenced at 9:30 a.m. April 11.
