By The 1 min read

A Brownsville man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Redstone Township early Saturday morning.

The fatal accident was called in by an ambulance around 12:50 a.m. on New Salem Road near Fairbank, according to Fayette 911.

43-year-old Brian Lemont Grooms was confirmed dead at the scene by the Fayette County coroner’s office.

The cause of death was blunt force trauma and other lethal injuries.

Fayette County Coroner Phillip E. Reilly said, “The injuries were so severe resuscitation could not of been successful.”

According to Reilly, Grooms was allegedly traveling at a high speed when he lost control, rolled his vehicle and was ejected.

“The lack of seat belt was a critical factor,” Reilly said.

We haven’t reached a investigating officer from state police to confirm the cause of the accident.

Pennsylvania State Police, Fayette EMS, Republic Fire Department and New Salem Fire Department responded to the scene.
