Gabrielle Faith Nicklow, age 11, of New Salem, Pa., went into the arms of Jesus on Monday March 20, 2017 at Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.

She was born on November 28, 2005 in Uniontown, Pa.

Gabrielle is the adored daughter and only child of Mike and Valerie Nicklow.

She loved toys, dolls, stuffed animals, playing outside, playing on her computer and IPod. She also enjoyed going to the beach, singing worship songs, and hanging out with her cousins and best friend, Emily.

Gabrielle had great faith and intelligence. She was very creative and selfless and always kind to others. She loved her pets – her five cats: Jasmine, Rolly, Tiger, Snow White, and her favorite – Tiana. She also got a new puppy, Charlie, who drove her crazy, but loved to cuddle with him.

Gabe was a 5th grader at Menallen Elementary School. She loved her teachers, principal, and classmates, all of whom supported her along with her community of New Salem and from all over.

She attended Faith Assembly of God, where she was part of the body of Christ.

Gabe was diagnosed with an Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor in July of 2016 at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. Her fight began and she was determined to Win! She loved her surgeons, oncologist, her nurses, especially Regi, and all of her doctors. Gabe suffered pain everyday, but she never gave up! She dove deep into battle, using her faith to overcome every challenge, surgery, extreme pain, and suffering. Gabrielle loved Jesus Christ and trusted in Him, worshipped Him throughout all of her pain. She declared Him in His Righteousness. She never gave up faith even in her last breaths! She has overcome the grave. She defeated Satan and crushed the myofibroblastic tumor. The doctors could not stop it, but Gabe did, even if it cost her life to do it!

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Anna Ritchey; grandfather, Harry Jordan; grandmother, Margaret ‘Peggy’ Nicklow; aunt, Margie Ritchey; cousin, Heather Lynn Garbutt; uncle, Paul Nicklow; and dear spiritual friend, Pat Coburn.

Gabrielle is survived by her loving, protective, and dedicated father, Michael J. Nicklow, who would move a mountain to get Gabe anything she wanted, anytime she wanted it; her mother and best friend who was her caregiver and who was with her 24 hours a day and would not leave her side, Valerie D. Nicklow; grandmother, Joanne ‘Bubba’ Jordan; grandfather, Richard Frederick Nicklow; aunts and uncles: Richard and Sheila Nicklow, Patty and Chuck Popovich, Lisa Nicklow ‘Aunt Dinky’, Bob and Holly Ritchey, Lisa and Matt Garbutt, Kathy and John Blatnik, Sherry and Tim Parker, Jerry Lucketti; and many other aunts and uncles; cousins: Ricky, Amanda, and Elliott Nicklow; CJ Popovich; Lisa, Duncan, Brian and Lucas Burdett; Nicole Ritchey and Santino Marchitello; Matthew Garbutt; Alexandra Lucketti; Joshua Blatnik; Sarah and Emily Parker; and Elijah Kimbrew.

A special thank you to Gabe’s Pastor and ours, Pastor Jason Lamer. He is a faithful friend who suffered along with us. A special thank you to his family’s sacrifice. We also thank our prayer warriors everywhere, for every child who said a prayer, every person who sent a gift or well wishes, for all of your support. Most of all, a Thank You to Gabrielle’s best friend, Emily Angelo – who Gabe considered her sister. Gabe had deep faith and strength and she saw that strength in her friend Emily, who visited Gabe and saw her at her worse. Gabe loves you!
