Virgil R. Perkins
Virgil R. Perkins, 75, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the Uniontown Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born at Lake Lynn, Pa., on February 9, 1942.
Virgil was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and will be missed by all that loved him.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved being outdoors.
Surviving are his beloved family: wife, Phyllis (Kazura) Perkins; son, Rodney Perkins of Smithfield; four step-children: Jackie Weber, Kathy and Lito Sandoval, Michelle and Tom Lehman, Jimmy Weber; grandchildren: Jason, Lauren, Isabella, Amara, Breanna, James, Nicole.
Also surviving are his sisters: Bonnie, Judy, and Rose; a brother, Joe Perkins and his wife Connie; number of nieces and nephews, including two very special ones, nephew Greg Miller and niece Lori Callen; and many friends in the Smithfield and Lake Lynn areas.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Luvina Mary (Engle) Hudson; brother, Ray Miller; sister, Edna Ruth DeVault; step-son, Brian; nephew, David DeVault.
Friends will be received in RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday until 11:00 a.m., the hour of Service with his friend, Ed Burnette, officiating.
Interment follows in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New Geneva, Pa.
